Paper Abstract:      The technology of computer-mediated synchronous communication is getting matured which makes the creation of online synchronous learning ever possible. This study reports a novel experience of holding an international online synchronous research seminar across Canada, Italy, and Taiwan, from March through June, 2010. Sixteen researchers in the field of e-learning were invited as guest speakers, and 12 doctoral students around the globe were participated in this seminar for credits. We present in this article how this online research seminar was organized, what students’ learning experiences were, and the lesson we learned from students’ feedback.
